OVERALL DESIGN

A chat server is designed to provide a forum for socializing.  A quake server is designed to provide player killing excitement.
This mud server is designed to provide a rich role play experience.  We have many features which allow for socializing and have made
player killing meaningful in our role play environment.  However, we do not want these other aspects detracting from our design goal.
If you are looking for a forum which provides more convenient socializing or more player killing excitement then please look
elsewhere.

We have given very much thought into the kind of atmosphere we want and how to go about achieving it.  Over the years we have
learned a lot about creating a mud.  Sometimes we have to make unpopular decisions but we only do so after careful consideration.

Rules such as the one hour character activation time are unpopular, just like banning multi play was unpopular years ago.  However, we feel it is exactly the right way to go for the kind of mud we want.  We expect everyone to put effort into the character they login.  If
you really do get bored or frustrated and want to login a different character to blow some steam or chit chat, but cannot because of the
two hour activation time then login at a different mud.  When you are in a better state of mind for the atmosphere here, come back.

Everyone will be involved in improving the role play atmosphere by sacrificing some socializing and pk excitement.  We hope that you
will trust in our judgment and follow our lead into a bright New Age.
