Descriptions

Every character on Illusions of the Mind is required to have a role and as part of the role they are also required to have a description.  Descriptions tell other players what your character looks like.  Avoid using sentences that make other characters feel a certain way.  However, feel free to describe basic mannerisms of your character.

“She stares at you with contempt and you have a sinking feeling in your stomach.”  Is not an appropriate line for a description because it is describing another person’s reaction towards your character.  However, “She stares at you with contempt.” is fine to put in a description as it only describes that person’s actions.

In order to write a description you must be in a room that is marked safe and use the “desc write command”.

  • Desc Write – Opens the desc write option.
  • .f – Formats the sentences so that they line up appropriately.
  • .c – Clears all lines of the description.
  • .h – Gives you a list of available commands.
  • @ – Used on a blank line takes you out of the desc write menu
